2020 Scottsdale Arabian Signature Auction Yearling Champion

Sired by the triple Bey Shah+ bred grey stallion, Beijing BHF, and out of double Magnum Psyche granddaughter, JJ Porcelyna, WINGATES LEGEND is a study in linebreeding that has apparently worked. One of two very promising full siblings, this beautiful bay colt has begun his show career as 2020 SSS Champion Yearling Auction Colt and 2020 SSS Top 3 Yearling Colt (1st in his preliminary section).

WINGATES LEGEND’s sire, U.S. National Top Ten Stallion Beijing BHF, was the product of breeding the U.S. National Champion Futurity Colt and national champion sire, Falcon BHF, to his own gorgeous triple national champion daughter Felisha BHF (x Tevkah by *Muscat).  Falcon BHF was, himself, the result of a father/daughter mating – that of the legendary show horse and sire Bey Shah+(Bay El Bey++ x Star of Ofir by *Bask) to his national champion and champion-producing daughter, Bey Serenade SF (x Brandie Alexandra by *SR Nadom). So, not only does Beijing BHF trace twice to Falcon BHF and four times to Bey Shah+, his pedigree also includes multiple lines to the chestnut Russian stallions U.S. and Canadian National champion and national champion sire *Muscat (2 times) and the elegant race winner and influential performance sire Priboj (8 times).  Of further significance, though several generations back, the influence of six lines to the legendary straight Egyptian stallion Nazeer, through his beautiful sons, *Ansata Ibn Halima++ (3 times), Morafic (2 times), and Aswan (once) should be noted.

Continuing the linebreeding in WINGATES LEGEND’s pedigree, his lovely bay dam JJ Porcelyna  (JJ Cohiba x JJ Porcelyn Doll by Magnum Psyche) further combines two lines of Bey Shah+ blood with three lines to multi-national champion *Padron, two of them through the legendary show horse and sire, Padrons Psyche, and his son, the great multi-national champion and national champion sire, Magnum Psyche (Padrons Psyche x A Fancy Miracle by *Sasaki).  The typey and athletic *Padrons Psyche (*Padron x Kilika by Tamerlan) added six more lines to the beautiful Nazeer son Aswan and even a few more to Priboj to the mix.

Neither JJ Porcelyna’s sire, nor her dam made a significant impact in the United States, apart from producing her; however, both represent incredible Arabian horse families. True to her legacy, JJ Porcelyn is quickly making quite a name for herself as a producer of quality show foals. The oldest of her foals is only two at this writing, but all four hold Scottsdale Show titles.

In addition to the impact of the accomplished stallions, Bey Shah+, Magnum Psyche, Padrons Psyche, and Padron, the influence of JJ Porcelyna’s highly regarded maternal granddam, the great broodmare, Porcelyn (Bey Shah+ x  GA Porta by Port Bask) was significant.  Porcelyn produced 13 foals, the last 9, including JJ Porcelyna’s dam JJ Porcelyn Doll, sired by Magnum Psyche.  Six of Porcelyn Doll’s full siblings had very successful show careers, including the beautiful U.S. National Top Ten Mare, Magna Prelude.  Porcelyn’s very first foal, a colt by the Negatraz son Aikon, earned her a place in Arabian horse history. That was the strikingly beautiful bay multi-national winner, Aicyng, sire of the acclaimed broodmare, Entaicyng NA, who counted the popular sire, Ever After NA, among her impressive children.  It should be noted that JJ Cohiba’s maternal grandsire, *Cajun Prince HCF, was also the maternal grandsire of Sir Fames HBV, who sired Ever After NA. WINGATES LEGEND’s dam line is truly a highly regarded complement to his storied sire line.

If a breeder were to carefully craft a pedigree designed to produce a superior show and breeding stallion, this family combination might very well be the result. Tracing twice to Falcon BHF, *Muscat, and Magnum Psyche, a total of three times to *Padron, six times to Bey Shah+, seven times to Aswan, eight times to Priboj, ten times to *Bask++, and eleven times to Nazeer, WINGATES LEGEND, indeed, seems the perfect blend of charisma, correct conformation, athletic ability, and beauty.  His is a great future.
